Safa cooperative was founded in 2016 by Sonia Gammoudi in El Arousaa, Siliana governorate. Safa has 10 members, 8 of whom are specialized in distillation.
Commercializing products made from MAPs is a path toward autonomy for these women who – before starting Safa – were all housewives.
